Lake Champlain Basin Pollution Reduction Calculator

The Lake Champlain Nonpoint Source Pollution Subwatershed Assessment and Management Plan was completed in 2018 and has since been used by the LCLGRPB, members of CWICNY, and individual municipalities to apply and receive funding for effective water quality projects throughout the Lake Champlain Basin. To further assist in advancing targeted phosphorus reduction projects, the LCLGRPB has created an online resource for local and regional resource managers.

With funding from the Lake Champlain Basin Program, the LCLGRPB calculated the pollutant load reductions for over 150 non-agricultural, non-point source projects identified in the 2018 Plan, using the NYS DEC Pollutant Load Reduction Calculator.

The Phosphorus Reduction Mapper provides the reductions in pounds per acre per year for the three major pollution contaminates that impact waterbodies:

  • Phosphorus
  • Nitrogen
  • Sediment

Every project's reduction has been determined using the best potential management practice.
