The Lake Champlain – Lake George Regional Planning Board (LCLGRPB) is seeking a full-time Junior Planner. In office position is in the Village of Lake George, but job encompasses coordination with and travel to agencies in Clinton, Essex, Hamilton, Warren, and Washington Counties of New York State. This is an entry level position that assists higher level planning staff in various phases of municipal, community, county and regional planning programs and projects. Must be able to research, collect, and analyze sociological, economic, and environmental data related to planning. Work also includes community outreach and event organization. Must have strong writing and data analysis skills and be able to prepare planning reports including maps, charts, tables, and graphics. Must be able to deliver data and ideas clearly and concisely to legislative bodies and the public, both orally and in writing. Must have the ability to work independently to perform job duties as assigned. Grant writing and/or management experience is a plus. Minimum qualifications include graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a bachelor’s degree in planning, landscape architecture, environmental studies, geography, natural resources, or related field. Competitive salary with benefits available. Position will be filled based on Civil Service requirements. A provisional appointment will be made with examination to be held at a later date.
